It is not smart to cut out all fats and carbs from your diet.  Do not take my word for it, ask your doctor.  BTW, I always recommend consulting with your doctor or registered dietitian before beginning a weightloss or fitness program.  Even though nobody wants to use the word “diet,” it is an important and necessary part of losing weight and meeting your ten pound weight loss goal. 

Everyone has a different body shape and metabolism.  A qualified dietitian or consultant will be able to help you find an eating plan account for your body type and age, sex, build, and level of physical activity.  Often, people who get very motivated to work out will spend hours in the gym each week and be very discouraged to see they are not losing weight.  That is because they have chosen a diet plans that is not right for them.

Keep Good Records To Show How You Are Doing

Few people like to keep records, but everyone likes to see progress.  After you have gotten the proper mindset and diet plan, then you have to begin keeping track of your progress.  Keeping good records will allow you to see what is helping you lose weight and what is hindering you from losing your 10 pounds.  Here are some things you should monitor, your daily caloric intake, the amount of water you drink daily, and the time you spend in daily exercise.

Weightloss does not have to be painful to be effective.  Since the whole purpose of losing the 10 pounds is so that you will feel more confident and healthy, do not make yourself stressed out getting there.  For most people, the key to maintaining the journey is to enjoy the journey.

No one can avoid stress.  If you have a workout partner to work with and share your frustrations and victories that will help.  But, do not wait until you find a partner before you take the first step.  Chances are that you will not find a partner until after you start.  If you simply cannot find a workout partner,  then use an iPod loaded with motivational talks and upbeat music.  This is my personal favorite, and it is more dependable than a partner.  A portable cd player will also work.  I used to walk and listen to Tony Robbins.

Be Strict But Not Legalistic

In order to be successful, you must believe in your weight loss plan.  You must also be consistent in doing it on a daily basis.  The best of plans always boil down to hard work.  Be patient.  Keep in mind that your hard work will have a payday.  Recognize that you will mess up some days.  Some days you will lose control of your schedule.  That is the way life goes.  Don’t be discouraged by this.   You can pick it back up the next day.  Weight loss takes time.  So be persistent and lose ten pounds!
